Richard Broom was born in Lincolnshire. Original Richard was a Merchant Navy Radio Officer (listen to Morse Code podcast here). Afterwards, he worked for the UK Government (FCO) and, after around 20 years of Government service, he ran his own small security consultancy business. He lives in Banff, Aberdeenshire. He enjoys taking photographs, making videos and podcasts. He also likes making sound recordings.

Richard is an instructor (specialist security training) and an author.

Richard also delivers presentations (see story telling) - mostly about spies, spying and general skulduggery during World War 1, World War 2 and the Cold War. Richard can deliver formal lectures or after dinner talks.
